Dental anxiety should never stand between you and the care you need. Inhalation sedation makes treatment comfortable and stress-free: it is not a general anaesthetic, so you stay conscious and responsive, only far calmer.
It is available for adults and children and is carried out by our experienced practitioner George Diffey, in a treatment room equipped for continuous monitoring. Referrals, new and existing patients are all welcome.

No. Sedation helps you relax during treatment — you remain conscious and responsive, but significantly calmer and more comfortable.
You cannot have sedation if you are pregnant, have COPD or significant breathing difficulties, have severe asthma that is not under control, take several medicines that may interact with sedation, or are elderly with health conditions that make it unsafe. Reception reviews your details when you book and tells you if sedation is appropriate.
Yes, for children who are particularly anxious about treatment — it helps with extractions, fillings and urgent dental care, in a calm and reassuring setting.
It is not mandatory. Once you are booked or referred, reception contacts you, confirms your medical suitability and answers any questions. If you would prefer a consultation first, we are happy to arrange one.
It depends on the treatment being carried out — your appointment length is tailored to your clinical needs.
